A Trane Commercial Case Study

Preview of the Grand Hyatt Case Study

Grand Hyatt - Customer Case Study

Grand Hyatt New York, part of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, needed to improve sustainability and financial performance in the face of aging infrastructure and a building automation system that struggled to coordinate multiple mechanical systems efficiently. Working with Trane Commercial, the hotel sought a way to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions while also lowering operating costs and supporting its corporate sustainability goals.

Trane Commercial retrofitted the hotel’s existing building automation system with a Trane Tracer Ensemble building management system and implemented Trane Intelligent Services, including Energy Performance and Energy Assessment. The solution delivered measurable results: energy use was reduced by 1,328,335 kWh, CO2 emissions fell by 916 metric tons, annual operating costs for controlled systems dropped by more than $271K, and the hotel captured more than $600K in utility and BAS rebates.
