Grace United Methodist Church - Customer Case Study

Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings, Nebraska, needed to replace an aging, inefficient chiller/boiler system that was costly to maintain and couldn’t adequately heat or cool all areas of the building. With no central control and widely varying occupancy patterns across the church, daycare, Sunday school, and activity spaces, the facility was experiencing inconsistent temperatures and rising utility bills.

Trane Commercial, working with Rutt’s Heating & AC, installed a Trane Advantage VRF™ system with 29 indoor units and 4 outdoor units to provide zoned comfort without major ductwork or chiller replacement. The system delivered quiet operation, individual room controls, and centralized scheduling and monitoring, helping Grace United Methodist Church improve comfort, reduce energy use, and better manage occupied and unoccupied spaces from the office.
