Geisinger Hughes cuts energy use 50% with Trane Commercial

Geisinger Hughes, an insurance company operating out of a twenty-year-old building, faced high energy costs and unreliable comfort due to aging Trane HVAC equipment and outdated controls that were extended beyond their life expectancies. Their primary heating source was inefficient electric duct heaters, which contributed to the problem.

Trane Commercial implemented a turnkey solution by replacing the old rooftop units with two high-efficiency IntelliPak heat pump units and upgrading 135 VAV terminal boxes with new controllers. They also installed a new Tracer SC+ building automation system for optimized control. This project, done in collaboration with Envinity, resulted in a 50% reduction in energy use, saving $50,000 annually and avoiding 347 metric tons of CO2 emissions.
