A Trane Commercial Case Study
Gail Borden Public Library District, the third-largest public library building in Illinois, needed to maintain a comfortable environment for more than a million annual visitors while reducing the risk of major chiller failure, unplanned downtime, and expensive emergency repairs. The district’s thirteen-year-old chillers were approaching a point where reliability and emergency planning became a priority, so it turned to Trane Commercial and its R’newal Service.
Trane Commercial performed R’newal Service on the compressors in both air-cooled Series R™ Helical Rotary Chillers, restoring them to OEM specifications with factory-trained technicians, leak integrity checks, and a five-year labor and parts warranty. The result was improved system reliability, reduced risk of refrigerant leaks and emergency repairs, and less chance of unplanned downtime, allowing the library district to plan shutdowns instead of facing surprise failures.
