A Trane Commercial Case Study
Fayetteville State University partnered with Trane Commercial to support its campus-wide sustainability goals, including reducing energy use intensity by 40% and addressing aging, inefficient equipment and controls. The university needed a solution that could improve energy and water efficiency while helping staff manage increasingly difficult maintenance demands.
Trane Commercial implemented a performance guarantee contract using Trane Intelligent Services, upgrading systems across 22 buildings and the West Campus central cooling and heating plant. The solution included new lighting, water and lab airflow upgrades, digital controls, sub-metering, weatherization, and HVAC improvements such as new chillers, boilers, air handlers, and BAS integration. Early results showed a verified savings potential of $927,908 in energy, water, operations, and maintenance costs, while also improving comfort, safety, and indoor air quality.
