Executive House saves over $45,000 with Trane Commercial

Executive House, a condominium building, was challenged by an aging HVAC system that caused frequent breakdowns and high maintenance costs. They sought to improve energy efficiency and resident comfort without a large upfront capital expenditure. They partnered with vendor Trane Commercial to find a solution, which involved an engineering study using TRACE 700 software.

Trane Commercial replaced the building's outdated steam absorption chiller with a new, efficient electric centrifugal chiller and a variable frequency drive. This solution, integrated with a Tracer building automation system, significantly reduced energy use and operational costs. The project resulted in over $45,000 in annual energy savings and nearly $800,000 less in life cycle costs, with the initial investment paying back in less than one year. Trane also secured a $30,160 utility rebate for the customer.
