A Trane Commercial Case Study
The City of Bremerton needed to replace aging, inefficient, and unreliable equipment at its wastewater treatment plant, especially the critical primary effluent pumping system. To avoid service disruption, reduce environmental risk, and stay within budget, the city turned to Trane Commercial and its Energy Savings Performance Contracting (ESPC) approach.
Trane Commercial provided a design/build solution that streamlined procurement, financing, and project delivery, including an investment grade audit, grant and incentive support, and phased upgrades such as new pumps with VFD controls, a turbo blower, and VFD fan retrofits. The project delivered more than $167,000 in annual energy savings, over $30,000 in annual maintenance savings, $500,000 in grants, and $400,000-plus in incentives, while extending plant life and minimizing staff time.
