Calvert County Career and Technology Academy in Prince Frederick, Maryland, needed a fast cooling solution when a design flaw in its air-cooled chiller led to a compressor failure just before the fall semester. Trane Commercial stepped in with an emergency response that included a temporary rental air-cooled chiller and support for a longer-term replacement plan.

Trane Commercial installed the rental unit within 24 hours and used its Rental Rebate program to help lower short-term costs while the district purchased a new system through TCPN. Trane Commercial ultimately replaced the failed equipment with a smaller, more efficient 250-ton RTAC Helical Rotary Air-Cooled Chiller, improving reliability and reducing lifecycle and energy costs while minimizing disruption to the school.
