Cajon Valley Union School District, serving the greater El Cajon, California area, needed to renovate aging and unreliable HVAC and controls systems across multiple schools. The district faced budget constraints, a tight summer construction window, and the challenge of improving indoor air quality, comfort, and energy efficiency while managing costs prudently. Trane Commercial worked with the district to address these needs, including HVAC equipment and building controls.

Trane Commercial installed packaged rooftop HVAC units along with a Trane Tracer SC building automation system and Tracer ES enterprise management software, giving the district web-based control, scheduling, alarm management, and remote multi-site oversight from network PCs. The upgrades were completed at five school locations, with improvements planned for six more, resulting in better indoor air quality, a healthier learning environment, and reduced energy and operational costs.
