Bullitt County Public Schools - Customer Case Study

Bullitt County Public Schools, one of Kentucky’s largest school districts, faced imminent HVAC failures in several schools, along with rising energy costs, unreliable equipment, comfort complaints, and poor indoor air quality across its 24 buildings. To address these challenges and support its learning environment goals, the district turned to Trane Commercial for HVAC and energy management solutions.

Trane Commercial implemented a full facilities upgrade that included HVAC retrofits in four schools, districtwide lighting retrofits, a Trane Tracer Summit® building automation system, Trane Intelligent Services active monitoring, and a 20-year performance contract. The results included 13% lower energy use despite increased square footage, about $800,000 saved over four to five years, and eight ENERGY STAR® awards, while also improving comfort, reliability, and classroom control.
