A Trane Commercial Case Study
Arnprior Regional Health, a community hospital in Arnprior, Ontario, needed to replace two 40-year-old natural gas steam boilers that were becoming increasingly unreliable and expensive to repair. With its service vendor located nearly eight hours away, the hospital faced the risk of major disruptions to patient care if the boiler plant failed, so it sought a fast-track upgrade. Trane Commercial provided an energy savings performance contract (ESPC) through the Trane Building Advantage portfolio.
Trane Commercial designed and integrated a new high-efficiency condensing hot water boiler plant alongside the existing steam system, using a pre-assembled, factory-tested skidded plant to reduce installation time and disruption. The project delivered more than $37,500 in annual operations and maintenance savings, $38,213 in annual energy savings, and about $21,000 in government and utility incentives, while also reducing energy use by 3,730 GJ and CO₂ emissions by 190 tons.
