Trane Commercial provided Amalie Arena, home of the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, with a supplemental cooling solution. The challenge was maintaining strict NHL temperature, humidity, and ice quality requirements during late-season playoff games, as warm Tampa weather and high arena occupancy threatened to make the ice soft and conditions uncomfortable.

The solution implemented by Trane was a turnkey rental system including desiccant dehumidifiers and chiller/air-handler combinations. This allowed the arena to precondition outside air, control the environment, and meet all NHL standards during games. As a result, Trane helped Amalie Arena ensure a comfortable environment for fans and a quality playing surface, with the flexibility to extend coverage throughout the playoffs.
