Allen County Public Library (ACPL), a 15-building county library system serving Fort Wayne and surrounding communities, needed to replace a varied mix of HVAC, controls, fire alarm, access, security, and other building systems. With a major expansion and renovation planned at the main library, ACPL sought a way to standardize and integrate its facilities using a single-source solution from Trane Commercial, including the Tracer ES™ Facilities Management System.

Trane Commercial implemented a web-based, multi-building building automation and management platform that integrated HVAC, lighting, fire alarm, paging, access control, intrusion security, CCTV, power monitoring, elevator control, and maintenance management across the library system. The result was unified control of all locations, faster operating changes, improved comfort and preservation conditions, and significant energy savings, including 90% of HVAC units shifting to night setback; ACPL also reported better lighting control and greater flexibility for future expansion.
