Albert Gallatin High School, part of the Albert Gallatin Area School District in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, needed a way to add air conditioning to the school without exceeding budget limits. The school wanted to improve comfort for students and staff, but the project had to be financially viable. Trane Commercial worked with the district to develop a performance contracting approach using energy savings to help fund the upgrade.

Trane Commercial implemented an EarthWise™ Ice-Enhanced Air-Cooled chiller plant, updated VAV and LED lighting systems, and fully integrated controls with the existing building automation system, along with a service agreement for ongoing support. The solution was expected to save nearly $50,000 per year, reducing total utility costs by about 20% while improving classroom comfort and helping support student performance.
