ADTRAN, Inc., a global provider of networking and communications equipment, needed to replace an obsolete controls system in its East Tower without causing downtime. To meet its sustainability goals while integrating with existing building systems, ADTRAN turned to Trane Commercial for a controls upgrade that could connect with current equipment and reduce energy consumption.

Trane Commercial implemented upgraded controls across chillers, cooling towers, VAV systems, fan coil and air handling units, pumps, and other equipment using Tracer™ UC600 and UC400 controllers, Tracer SC System Controller, and Tracer ES building management software. The project added chiller plant optimization, static pressure reset, and demand control ventilation, resulting in an estimated annual energy savings of 1.3 million kWh and $133,680 in TVA rebates, while also improving reliability and occupant comfort.
