11 Madison Avenue, the national headquarters for Credit Suisse in New York City, needed to replace an outdated chiller plant at the end of its life cycle while improving energy efficiency, plant resiliency, and environmental performance. Trane Commercial partnered with the building to develop a thermal storage-based HVAC solution, supported by chillers and storage tanks.

Trane Commercial implemented a turnkey system featuring three 800-ton high-efficiency centrifugal chillers, 64 CALMAC ice storage tanks, and related equipment to shift cooling load to off-peak hours. The project reduced peak electric demand by nearly 1 megawatt and cut annual on-peak energy use by more than 2.15 million kWh, while improving resiliency and delivering attractive financial returns with NYSERDA incentive support.
