A Trakstar Hire Case Study
BVI Airways is a start-up airline based in the British Virgin Islands preparing to relaunch service and soon operate new flights between the BVI and Miami on larger jets. As they scale—planning to add five to six aircraft—they faced a high-volume, time-sensitive hiring challenge: hundreds of global applicants for pilot and cabin crew roles, expensive and legally regulated training, and the need to quickly identify candidates with the right technical skills, crew resource management (CRM) qualities and long-term fit.
To meet that challenge they implemented a structured, efficient hiring workflow: targeted application questions to pre-screen qualifications, automated rejection emails, Skype interviews to assess fit, in-person interviews and meticulous recordkeeping for compliance. That process has already supported hiring 10 pilots and more than 15 flight attendants, significant investment in role-specific training, and positions BVI Airways to expand operations, boost tourism access and reliably staff its growing fleet.
