A Trainual Case Study

Accessing The How-Tos And Need-To-Knows From Anywhere

Forestdale, a child welfare agency in Queens, New York, faced a challenge: caseworkers needed a consistent, centralized, and field-accessible way to navigate complex court- and oversight-driven policies while still delivering holistic, trauma-informed care. After a static document-style manual proved unusable in the field, Forestdale searched for a cloud-based platform and selected Trainual to house and distribute its how-tos, checklists, and best-practice guidance.

Trainual was used to build a single, searchable training hub—placing more than 100 mandated tasks into a searchable 4‑stage model of holistic casework that can be updated and shared at the click of a button. The Trainual implementation has been piloted and is rolling out across NYC foster-care partners, streamlining caseworker access to policy and practice, improving service quality in the field, and enabling rapid updates; Forestdale is now working to capture measurable impacts on practice consistency, caseworker empathy, and long-term outcomes.
