DHL, the world’s largest international courier with over 467,000 employees, was processing about 10 million invoices a year across multiple legacy ERPs and needed to boost invoice-processing efficiency. A prior e-invoicing provider underperformed: suppliers resisted paying to connect, onboarding was labor-intensive, country coverage was limited, and adoption fell far short of expectations.
DHL switched to Tradeshift for its free, open global network, multi-format/protocol support and automated onboarding tools (onboarding app, Business Firewall, CloudScan) plus a dedicated CSM and white‑glove support for top vendors. Results included 2,500 suppliers onboarded (vs. a 1,500 target), roughly 50% activation within eight months, 21,000 e-invoices processed monthly with ~10% month-over-month growth, a 4x increase in accumulated e-invoice value year-to-year, and rollout across 127 branches in 30 countries with further expansion planned.
