A Tradeshift Case Study
NCC, a leading construction, property development and infrastructure group in Northern Europe with about 18,000 employees and SEK 57 billion in 2014 sales, faced a major procurement challenge: its legacy systems offered almost no transparency into spend. Stakeholders could not get reliable answers to basic procurement questions, so decisions were driven by assumptions rather than shared facts and strategic coordination was weak.
NCC implemented IBX (now Tradeshift) Spend Analytics—a cloud, in-memory solution—and ran workshops to create a common category structure, group suppliers and map spend data, then used tailored reports to track coordination. The result is a single, accurate view of aggregated spend across seven systems, enabling a new commodity strategy, standardization and supplier consolidation. Coordination rose dramatically (68% for windows, 59% for wood elements), sourcing lead times fell from six weeks to under an hour, and NCC achieved lower supplier prices, more efficient production and reduced risk.
