Consumer Packaged Goods Company Transitions to a Global Networked Supply Chain

The customer, a global consumer packaged goods company, faced challenges in its vast accounts payable operations due to its complex global presence and a need to reduce support burdens for its AP departments and suppliers. To address this, the company partnered with Tradeshift to begin a digital transformation, initially focusing on AP automation with Tradeshift Pay to create a more efficient and connected supply chain network.

The solution from Tradeshift centered on creating a global e-invoicing and supplier collaboration network. This enabled the rapid onboarding of over 11,500 suppliers, which accounted for 73% of the company's in-scope invoice volume. The results were substantial, including a significant reduction in invoicing processing costs, the elimination of supplier support phone lines, and a refocusing of AP teams on value-added tasks. Tradeshift's platform also paved the way for future initiatives in procurement, working capital optimization, and sustainable sourcing.
