Marmite, the iconic savoury spread owned by Unilever, wanted to personalise jar labels to spark market buzz and drive sales. TractionNext was engaged to solve both the strategic brief and technical challenges: taking customer-entered names from a text field, placing them onto a separate image asset for printing, and recreating Marmite’s bespoke font and arched label layout. TractionNext developers used PHP and image-manipulation techniques to warp a template font and curve text precisely to fit the asymmetrical label, and leveraged Marmite’s Facebook page to present a dynamic label experience.
TractionNext implemented its platform on Marmite’s Facebook Page with a live preview of custom labels and a registration function to capture emails. The campaign ran 21 days, generated 105,888 entries, and the platform processed about 210 personalised label orders per hour for three weeks, producing strong market attention and an upswing in sales. TractionNext’s solution delivered the required personalization at scale while also growing Marmite’s subscriber list.
