Increasing Magnum’s customer data through POS

Magnum Ice Cream, Unilever’s premium ice‑cream brand, ran a pop‑up “Pleasure Store” and needed to capture customer data on iPads at the point of sale by inviting visitors to enter a competition to win a year’s supply. Legacy web technology prevented dynamic API posting to TractionNext’s ECRM platform, so entries captured at POS could not automatically trigger confirmation emails or feed into Unilever’s customer view.

TractionNext implemented a simple SFTP workaround and used its automated file‑import service to pick up daily exports, post entries into the TractionNext platform, and trigger confirmation and winners’ emails within 24 hours. The TractionNext competition module automated winner selection and, together with responsive email design and a single customer view, delivered measurable gains: more customer data and email subscribers, richer entrant-level reporting, and streamlined ongoing competitions and communications.
