National Aerial Firefighting Centre - Customer Case Study

The National Aerial Firefighting Centre (NAFC) in Australia coordinates aerial firefighting resources across six states and two territories, managing a fleet of more than 500 aircraft from 150 operators. NAFC needed a common operating picture across all firefighting assets, but without one, tracking resources and reporting data was inefficient, time-consuming, and costly. TracPlus provided the data integration services and tracking/event reporting platform used to bring these streams together.

With TracPlus, NAFC gained a single access point for all firefighting tracking and event-related data, using TracPlus’s tracking decoder engine to convert information from 12 tracking providers into one unified view. This enabled a national tracking standard independent of hardware, software, or provider, with little or no capital expenditure. Since 2010, TracPlus has supported seamless national integration of airborne firefighting tracking data, helping NAFC improve operational efficiency and better organize and deploy assets across the country.
