University upgrades from a burdensome tracking system to something easy to use and sees increased engagement

Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Social Concern needed a better way to track service hours for its HopServe50 program, which asks students to complete 50 hours of civic engagement each academic year. Existing tools were not being widely used, so the team looked for a solution that was easy to use, cost-efficient, and able to capture student volunteer hours reliably. Track it Forward was selected to meet those needs.

With Track it Forward, Johns Hopkins University gained a simple mobile-friendly system for logging and viewing volunteer hours, along with email features to identify students who were behind and encourage participation. The result was higher student engagement and much easier hour tracking; in the last two years, hundreds of students have logged thousands of volunteer hours, and staff can now clearly see who is doing what, when, and where.
