Readers 2 Leaders Manages Volunteers and Measures Impact with Mobile App

Readers 2 Leaders, a West Dallas nonprofit led by volunteer coordinator Carol Porter, works to close a severe reading gap where about 86% of students are economically disadvantaged and two-thirds are not reading at grade level. Their challenge was managing and retaining a large volunteer corps and efficiently recording volunteer hours—sometimes with a dozen volunteers and only one computer—while quantifying community impact.
