Promote University Student Volunteerism with Progress and Engagement Tracking

Swinburne University of Technology’s Student Life Volunteering Program needed a way to boost student volunteerism while ensuring accurate, compliant tracking of hours for the Empowering Leaders Program and academic transcripts. To replace boxes of paper forms and manage requirements like Working With Children Checks and Consent Matters certificates, the program adopted the Track it Forward volunteer-tracking platform.

Track it Forward provided customizable volunteer profiles (photo and certificate uploads), an approval workflow, an event calendar, hour logging with activity categories, milestone tracking (25/50/100/200 hours), and exportable, saveable reports. The platform professionalized and organized the program, eliminated paper-based records, freed staff time for engagement, and gave administrators actionable metrics—hours, registrations, and percent-active students—so they could improve compliance, reporting to the university, and volunteer engagement.
