A Track it Forward Case Study
Pasadena Educational Foundation faced a sudden operational shift when COVID‑19 closed classrooms and canceled in‑person events, yet still needed volunteers to support meal distribution, virtual programs, and other pandemic relief efforts. In late February they adopted Track It Forward’s volunteer management software—using its event calendar, hour‑logging, and customizable profile fields—to provide an easy, low‑maintenance way for volunteers to sign up and for staff to manage safety and eligibility requirements.
Track It Forward let PEF post curbside meal shifts within hours, collect RSVPs and reminders, approve hours, and generate program‑specific reports for grant writers. As a result PEF quickly scaled to over 200 volunteers, logged 1,250 volunteer hours from March–June 2020, helped deliver thousands of meals, and reduced administrative time—freeing staff to focus on partnerships and programs rather than software administration.
