Charter School Increases Parent Engagement with Volunteer Tracking

NYOS Charter School in Austin, Texas, a Pre-K through 12 school with strong parent involvement goals, needed a better way to manage volunteer tracking and boost engagement after participation had dropped after COVID. The school had previously recorded volunteer hours manually, making it difficult to encourage and measure parent involvement.

Using Track it Forward’s volunteer tracking platform, event calendar, messaging, and reporting tools, NYOS made it easier for parents to sign up, log hours, and stay informed. With Track it Forward, NYOS tripled its active volunteers in the first year, growing from about 45 volunteers to over 300 in 2023 and nearly 400 in 2024, while also improving reporting and launching a volunteer appreciation program.
