A major agribusiness exporter in Haryana, India, faced challenges with fragmented paper-based records and a complete lack of batch-level traceability in its mandi (agricultural market) procurement system for Basmati paddy. This led to inventory management gaps and a disconnect between procurement and sales data. To address this, the company partnered with TraceX to implement its traceability solutions, including features for farmer profiling, harvest procurement, and GRN and sales.

TraceX implemented a QR code-based traceability workflow. This involved digitally logging farmer purchases, then printing and affixing unique QR codes to each paddy bag to link it to its source. These bags were then scanned into warehouse inventory and tracked through to dispatch. The solution provided the agribusiness with 100% batch-level traceability, faster truck loading times, streamlined audit readiness, and enhanced procurement governance by reducing leakage and disputes.
