A TraceParts Case Study

Preview of the Schneider Electric Case Study

Schneider Electric cad files are available in the TraceParts.com Parts Library

Schneider Electric, the global energy management specialist, needed a faster way to provide customers with CAD drawings and 3D product models across a wide range of electrical and industrial components. As demand grew and file formats became more complex, the company looked for a partner to help make its product data easier to access for designers and machine manufacturers. TraceParts was selected as the CAD parts library and distribution platform.

TraceParts built and hosted Schneider Electric’s downloadable CAD catalog, starting with Telemecanique components and then expanding to more product lines, while simplifying models to protect intellectual property and reduce file size. The partnership has scaled from a little more than 11,000 references to nearly 70,000 planned articles, and more than 30,000 models were downloaded in 2008 alone. Schneider Electric reported excellent collaboration with TraceParts and found the library to be both a customer service improvement and a valuable sales tool.
