Case Study: VIM achieves faster, up-to-date CAD access for customers with TraceParts

A dynamic library to help in installing new generation material

VIM, a ventilation equipment manufacturer serving buildings, needed a better way to help engineers and installers access accurate product information in constrained installation environments. Working with TraceParts, the company set out to move beyond static 2D/3D documentation and create a dynamic online parts library for its ventilation and smoke extraction products.

TraceParts implemented a web-based CAD library integrated into the VIM website, with simplified 3D models, downloadable technical files, and regular updates to reflect the latest product changes. Within less than 6 months, nearly 8,000 items were published online, and VIM reported strong customer satisfaction with the model quality, selection process, and download speed, while also gaining usage statistics to monitor adoption.
