Barilla reformulates 420 recipes with Trace One

Barilla, the world's largest pasta company, faced a challenge in streamlining its recipe development and nutritional labeling processes to meet changing consumer demands and maintain regulatory compliance. To address this, Barilla turned to the vendor Trace One and implemented its Trace One Devex PLM solution.

The solution from Trace One automated recipe development, expanded the materials database, and enabled recipe simulation. This allowed Barilla to gain significant agility. As a measurable result, Barilla used Trace One Devex PLM to reformulate over 420 recipes for sauces, pasta, and bakery items, successfully reducing contents like sugar, saturated fats, and salt.
