TP-Link Creates a Five-Star Guest Network for Colombian Hotel

Barranquilla Plaza Hotel, a 176-room hospitality property in Barranquilla, Colombia, was struggling with an outdated standalone wireless network of 80 access points that caused dropped connections, dead zones, poor capacity, and guest complaints. The hotel also wanted a centralized, easy-to-manage system and access points that would better match its interior design, so it turned to TP-Link for a new wireless solution.

TP-Link, through partner CONALCO, deployed 70 TP-Link Auranet EAP120 access points, three TL-SG3424P PoE switches, and EAP Controller management software to deliver hotel-wide Wi-Fi coverage, reliable connectivity, and centralized administration. The solution also added guest authentication with captive portal vouchers and temporary accounts, and the hotel reported improved internet service across the staff, with 100% of staff expressing satisfaction and the network fitting unobtrusively into the décor.
