AirlieBeach.com, the Whitsundays Central Reservation Centre run by Tony and Lolita Laurent, faced fully manual operations—staff handwriting tickets and vouchers and manually rekeying data into MYOB—which constrained efficiency even as the business grew and won the Telstra 2012 Australian Small Business Award for Queensland. To address this, they adopted Tourwriter’s tour-operator travel software in 2010.
Tourwriter centralized supplier data, itinerary creation, basic CRM and reporting, and automated reservations for AirlieBeach.com’s eight‑person team. The new workflow cut accounting time from about 20 hours to roughly 2 hours per week (saving around A$15,000 annually), sped quote turnaround to capture more web enquiries, and provided flexible pricing controls and instant sales/staff reporting.
