Touchstone IQ was engaged by Sprint and AECOM to assist with the analysis and design of renewable fuel cell technologies for backup power generation at cellular tower sites across the United States. The challenge was to evaluate the feasibility and financial viability of implementing this technology on a national scale.

The solution from Touchstone IQ included a comprehensive feasibility study, financial analysis of equipment options, and a nationwide review of applicable renewable energy incentives. As a result, Touchstone IQ developed a full fuel cell design and implementation package that achieved a three-year simple payback. They also successfully identified over 10,000 utility-funded renewable energy program records to support the national rollout.
