Hennepin County sought a way to improve the accessibility and economic feasibility of energy benchmarking programs for cities across Minnesota. The county partnered with vendor Touchstone IQ to address this challenge, utilizing their automated building report tracking and program management services.

The solution implemented by Touchstone IQ was a county-wide standardized benchmarking program that local municipalities could opt into. As a result of this initiative, five cities have joined the Efficient Buildings Collaborative and now utilize the Touchstone IQ platform, which is managing the data collection for all their city government and public buildings, totaling over 142 million square feet.
