Historic GSA Building Deploys TouchSource Digital Lobby Directory

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), a major government landlord, faced significant challenges with its outdated slat sign lobby directory at the historic Robert N.C. Nix Federal Building. The manual process for updating tenant information was extremely time-consuming, once taking a full week for a single change. Additionally, the old directory could not fulfill program requirements like displaying missing child notices and was difficult for visitors to read. TouchSource provided a digital lobby directory to address these issues.

TouchSource implemented a non-interactive digital directory that streamlined the update process through a cloud portal. The solution included a secure, local cellular network to meet government privacy requirements and was designed to match the historic building's finishes. This allowed the GSA to save a substantial amount of staff time and effortlessly meet its obligation to post 10 missing child notices per month. The TouchSource digital directory made property information more accessible to visitors and greatly improved the property manager's productivity.
