The City of Grand Junction faced a challenge with their high-demand conference room spaces at city hall, where a lack of clear signage led to frequent meeting interruptions and confusion over room availability despite using a Microsoft Outlook reservation system. To address this, they partnered with vendor TouchSource to implement their SharedSpaces digital signage solution.
TouchSource's solution provided an all-in-one platform of software and monitors that displayed real-time scheduling information pulled from the existing calendar system. This contactless signage was deployed on conference room doors, clearly showing if a room was busy or free and detailing scheduled meeting times. The City of Grand Junction reported that the TouchSource system successfully prevented meeting interruptions, as employees could now easily identify the correct room, and received positive feedback from staff for its clarity and usefulness.
