New Housing In Time for the Fall Semester

Sundt Construction faced a tight schedule building a six‑building, 365,000-sf student housing project for California State University, Sacramento that had to be ready for the fall 2021 semester. Tracking percent promised complete (PPC) and sharing large amounts of data across superintendents and specialty trades was a major challenge, so Sundt selected Touchplan software to support lean processes and centralize weekly work planning, PPC, workforce and materials data.

Touchplan replaced Sundt’s complex Excel system with a user-friendly dashboard that allowed field superintendents and subcontractors to set milestones, plan weekly work, and collaborate analytically. As a result, Touchplan improved PPC visibility and communication, enabled better management of large data sets, and helped Sundt deliver the six-building Hornet Commons on time—ready to house 1,100 students and increasing campus housing supply by 33%.
