Case Study: Granger Construction achieves six-week early completion of Sparrow Hospital's pediatric unit with Touchplan

A Touchplan Case Study

Preview of the Granger Construction Case Study

Granger focused on collaboration to maintain a predictable workflow and avoid roadblocks

Granger Construction led a $3.1M renovation of the 5th‑floor Foster Pediatric Unit at Sparrow Hospital after pervasive mold forced a full rebuild. The project faced tight, occupied‑space constraints (critical plumbing and valve work affecting floors above/below), an aggressive timeline driven by the incoming RSV season, and scope growth mid‑project. To manage those risks, Granger implemented Touchplan, combining the Touchplan platform with takt planning and the Last Planner System.

Using Touchplan to run six‑week look‑aheads, weekly planning, daily tickets and promise‑keeping conversations organized around four takt flow units (patient rooms, nursing core, rehab and corridors), the team established predictable continuous flow and tighter coordination with hospital staff and inspectors. With Touchplan at the center of the process, the project finished six weeks ahead of schedule, allowed the hospital to operate at full capacity during RSV season, freed funds to add upgrades, improved team accountability, and produced productivity metrics that helped Granger win new work.
