Case Study: BOND Brothers achieves five-week early completion and 4% owner savings with Touchplan

A Touchplan Case Study

Preview of the BOND Brothers Case Study

BOND Brothers implements Lean construction to work smarter, not harder

BOND Brothers was the contractor for a challenging Lahey Hospital fit-out that required relocating the General Internal Medicine department into a nearby 37,000 sq. ft. site (plus a 4,000 sq. ft. diagnostics suite) within a hard deadline to preserve reimbursement rules. The project faced a delayed start, mid‑project design changes, tight budget and schedule (seven months, $8.5M), and the need to minimize disruption to an occupied hospital and adjacent office building. To manage the risk, the team engaged Lean consultant Hal Macomber and used Touchplan, applying takt planning and the Last Planner System in the Touchplan platform.

Using Touchplan, the team broke work into detailed takt sequences (treating an exam room as the flow unit) and defined daily work batches to accelerate progress and enforce accountability. The Touchplan-driven approach recovered lost time, delivered the GIM and diagnostics center five weeks early, returned about 4% savings to the owner, improved cross‑trade collaboration and communication, and helped BOND Brothers win the Lahey project.
