MADaboutART protects lives through the coronavirus

MADaboutART is a South Africa-based grassroots charity that fights HIV through art and education, while also supporting vulnerable children and creating local economic opportunities. During the coronavirus pandemic, the organization faced severe disruption from the collapse in tourism, reduced school meals, and growing needs around malnutrition and HIV, all while working with limited internal resources. ToucanTech provided a simple, one-stop system to help manage MADaboutART’s website, donations, and communications.

Using ToucanTech, MADaboutART quickly launched a coronavirus relief campaign on its website to raise funds for food, cloth masks, and soap for its community. Over six months of lockdown, the charity provided more than 19,000 meals and distributed cloth masks and a bar of soap to more than 500 people. ToucanTech helped MADaboutART keep operations running during the pandemic and continue feeding and educating children at its MAD centre.
