HigherEdSocial is a professional network for social media managers in higher education that grew from a small online group into a community of more than 9,000 members. As it became a full professional society, it needed a more permanent, futureproof membership platform with member profiles, online payments, public website pages, private members-only content, and support for its mentoring programme, all in a clean, modern design. ToucanTech provided the platform for its new online community.

ToucanTech delivered a membership community platform that supports profiles, membership tiers and renewals, private resource hosting, jobs listings, mentoring, sponsor profiles, and member engagement features. Since launch, HigherEdSocial has attracted new members, expanded its value offering with discounts, templates, newsletters, reports and whitepapers, and enabled members from 73 countries to network and apply for roles through the platform. The site also lists over 20 jobs and supports the world’s only professional mentoring programme for social media managers in higher education.
