German Ministry of Economy and Energy builds 12 interactive Expo 2017 stands with Toucan Systems

The German Ministry of Economy and Energy (BMWi) required a comprehensive set of interactive applications and multimedia materials to showcase Germany's achievements in renewable energy for its pavilion at the Expo 2017 World Exhibition. To meet this challenge, they engaged Toucan Systems to develop a series of interactive and large-format graphics stands.

Toucan Systems designed and implemented 12 innovative stands, including an award-winning multimedia table for energy balance and a Magic Wall for a Smart Home exhibit. These solutions combined interactive Unity 3D applications, mechatronics, and personalized RFID elements to create an engaging visitor experience. As a result of Toucan Systems' work, the German Pavilion was awarded Best Pavilion of Expo 2017, and its interactive energy balance installation specifically won Best Interactivity from Exhibitor magazine. The project's impact extended beyond the exhibition, as two of the stands continue to be used by the German Ministry of Environment at other events.
