York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust needed a more flexible learning management system after merging with two other trusts, as its old proprietary LMS could not support nearly 10,000 staff spread across a large rural area. To avoid costly travel for training, the Trust chose Totara Learn to better meet its mandatory learning, IT training, and staff development needs.
Totara, implemented with Chambury Learning Solutions, delivered the “Learning Hub” LMS with programs, certifications, SCORM content, seminars, quizzes, checklists, and nurse revalidation tools. The result was a comprehensive platform that improved training delivery and reduced admin, with 686 courses, 274 programs, and 37 certifications active; average completions reached 9,222 per month, and the Trust saved over £100,000 a year on training.
