Vaillant, a family-owned German heating and hot‑water manufacturer with a large UK installer network, needed to keep independent, self-employed installers up to date without asking them to lose earnings or travel time for classroom training. The training team wanted the benefits of e‑learning but avoid low-quality content, so their challenge was to reduce disruption and cost while maintaining high standards and practical, hands‑on learning.
Working with Mind Click, Vaillant launched a blended programme built on a custom Totara Learn LMS integrated via single sign‑on with the Vaillant Advance loyalty portal. The solution combines interactive e‑modules, simulations, videos and online assessments (with iPad pre/post checks) to prepare learners before workshops and provide on‑the‑job reference, while incentivising use through loyalty points. Installers can learn on mobile, keep working if they prefer, and feedback has been excellent — the programme won industry recognition and Vaillant is already expanding the blended approach.
