UNICEF’s Agora platform a decade of empowering minds, changing lives

UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, needed a learning platform that could reach a diverse global workforce, support self-paced learning, and provide reliable reporting across more than 190 countries and territories. Using Totara’s Agora learning management system, UNICEF aimed to strengthen continuous learning, professional development, and accountability for its staff, consultants, and partners.

Totara, through its partner Catalyst, delivered a highly customized, fully hosted and managed Agora platform on AWS, with integrations such as LinkedIn Learning, Gamoteca, PageUp, SAP, and Azure. The solution helped UNICEF scale learning access globally, expand courses into 26 languages, and improve accessibility and inclusion; the platform now has over 1 million registrations and more than 300,000 active users, while UNICEF reports close to 100% compliance in most onboarding courses and 245,111 completions of its flagship prevention course.
