Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, a large healthcare provider serving multiple care systems across a wide geographic area, needed a more effective way to deliver education and mandatory training to a growing workforce. Its previous LMS was clunky, time-consuming to administer, and failing to meet compliance targets, with overall mandatory training compliance at 76% against a 90% goal before the switch to Totara.
Totara, implemented with partner Think Learning, provided a more intuitive LMS with flexible learning formats, stronger reporting, dashboards, automated reminders, and integration with ESR for compliance transferability. The result was a 13% increase in mandatory training compliance to 89%, a 75% reduction in ad hoc reporting requests, a 75% cut in monthly reporting time worth 144 hours and £2,880 in savings, and about 6,000 eLearning completions in February 2023.
