Totara Learn’s Flexible Features Fortify Universitas 21’s Collaboration Platform

Universitas 21 is a global network of research‑intensive universities that promotes international collaboration among students, researchers and staff. When the Researcher Engagement team noticed fewer applications and reduced member interaction, they needed a central platform to host resources, encourage collaboration, enable communication and support virtual meetings.

They implemented Totara Learn with partner Catalyst IT to build the “U21 Community,” a flexible Moodle‑based collaboration and learning portal. Using features like hierarchies, reporting, user management and customizable dashboards, the platform has increased member engagement, given subject‑matter experts control of content, and enabled virtual events, workshops and ongoing surveys to measure and boost participation.
